Vinicius Junior’s future at Real Madrid hangs by a thread after the Brazilian superstar rejected the club’s latest contract offer, with Arsenal now waiting in the wings to complete what would be the most expensive signing in their history.
The 26-year-old winger, whose current deal expires in June 2027, turned down a proposal worth €22 million net per season through 2031, demanding instead a package closer to the €30 million net annually earned by teammate Kylian Mbappe.
According to multiple reports, Vinicius is also seeking nearly 100% of his image rights, mirroring the agreement Mbappe secured when he joined Real Madrid. The club’s offer included retaining 50% of his image rights, a sticking point that has proven insurmountable.

The Arsenal dressing room now considers the deal “done”, with sporting director Andrea Berta confident of securing the signing. Manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly been personally involved in convincing the player to move to North London.
